Switching up their hazy game with the collection of Citra, Amarillo and Mandarina Bavaria hops, the rich and luscious IPA triples down on all flavors of citrus.
Nearly as refreshing as sports drinks, Mirror Twin's Hazerade comes via bartender wiht a pale golden orange color and cast in a matte finish. As a creamy swath of foam greets the rim, its scent rolls onto the nose with a hit of citronella, herb and a rife floral bouquet. Sweet on the tongue, early impressions are of yeasty bread dough, agave and shortbread.
Yet as the hops unfold, the attention quickly shifts from the malt sweetness and toward bold hop flavor. Citrus impressions include blood orange, tangerine, nectarine, red grapefruit and an apricot character that hinges on fruit rollups. As the ale trends moderately bitter, a spice of fresh spruce and botanical gin offers a crisp late palate with green tea and an overall fresh grassiness of herb and hemp.
Medium bodied and malty dry, the beer's creamy malt upstart offers a juicy grain sweetness that highlights the hop's fruity impressions. A refreshing finish is off dry as a celebration of citrusy hops outlasts any true fade to crispness or cleanliness. In the end, it proves that Mirror Twin's hazy game is getting stronger.
