A common taste of Mirror Twin's hazy IPA base employs the uncommon fruits of blood orange and papaya for a decidedly tropical spin on an otherwise citrus and suggestive taste of fruit instead.

A matte finish of orange hues plays like orange juice against the glass. As a creamy ivory froth hangs on, a full and floral aromatic fruit perfume awaits. Leading with a strong tropical scent, the papaya plays deep and long on the nose. Pastry sweet and juicy with malt sweetness, a light pastry doughiness gravitates toward smoothie creaminess and honey sweetness.

As the middle palate reveals the full impact of fruit, its the hops that take the lead with tangerine, red grapefruit, lime, gooseberry, pineapple and passionfruit before the overt taste of blood orange and papaya wash away the more subtle hop tones in favor of a rich tropical punch character. But trending smooth and bitter, the hops shine in the end with a botanical gin and tonic late palate with a peppery balance of fresh grassiness and tropical fruit peels.

Medium bodied and taking a richer, creamier tone, the juiciness of fruit flavors and hop character rewards the tastebuds with an extended fruit display but sacrifices the clean, dry and crisp character that makes IPA so palatable and drinkable.
