Doubling down on triple hopping, Mirror Twin Brewing steers their hazy ship into Craft Beer Week with an imperial IPA of the New England styled techniques and triple dose of dry hopping for a strongly aromatic, juicy and highly rewarding character to keep us from burning the building down.
A standard and hazy golden straw appearance carries a pastel appearance with a loose frothy cap. An array of hop aromas flood the nose with citronella, tropical fruits and an overall botanical scent. Sweet on the tongue, a pastry rich taste of honey, shortbread and agave bring the malts to the forefront of flavor.
Full flavored and rife with perfumy citrus, a bold tangerine, and a bevy of tropical flavor ranging from papaya, pineapple, mango, passionfruit, peach and coconut. A backup of tangerine, red grapefruit and lemon adds a branch ripe zest to the taste in a slightly tangy form. Its herbal complement comes as a playful grassiness laced with chive, lemongrass and parsley for a medium level of bitterness and a peppery, mild whisky finish.
Medium full and rounded with juicy cereal and hops, a smoothie effect isn't far off. A spicy twinge of alcohol acts like whisky on the throat with a sprucy, grassy and peppery bite with an extended whisky and fruity afterglow.
