Raspberries, wild yeast and wine barrels are just the recipe to turn Mirror Twin's sour ale program into something exceptional. Tabling their hazy ways for a moment and utilizing Lover's Leap wine barrels to their greatest potential gives the brewery a fresh bold taste.
Bright mauve and cast in a moderate haze, the fruit juice looking beer crowns with a dainty and loose froth. A radiant and tangy aroma teases the nose with promises of wine, funk, fauna, brine and berry. Flavors of thin wheat malt provide a smooth and slightly creamy base for sweetness of hard candy, fruit juices and taffy early on the palate.
Then the magic happen across the middle palate as the ale sheds its sweetness and favors a piquant sourness that's laced with cranberry, crabapple, rhubarb, red wine, raspberry and hints of black cherry. A sea-like brine rounds the ale's sourness along with the spices of weathered woods, berry skins and a mild peppery wine tone heading into finish.
Medium light in body, the sharp acidity brightens the taste and crispens the texture to ensure a high rate of drinkability with an equally impressive level of contrast and complexity. It's a nearly masterful sour ale that's an ideal thirst quencher and crowd pleaser.

Exceptional Wild Ale, aged in Lover’s Leap (KY Red Wine) barrels with raspberries. Looks like pink lemonade. Mouth watering aroma, heavy on raspberries. Yeast comes from Side Project. One of the best!
