Built on the back of Waimea hops, the New England styled IPA of Mirror Twin also puts lactose to use to sooth the sharper elements of the hop's bitterness while charming hop heads with with a thirst quenching taste for summer.
Pouring a light pastel gold with a twinge of lemon yellow, There's No Hazing in Baseball crowns with a creamy white, persistent froth. As the scent of citrus, spruce and herbal elements rise to the nose, its creamy and pastry-like maltiness makes a big showing on the early palate. Suggestions of angel food cake, cereal and breads provide a sweet upstart heading into the middle palate.
That's where the hops spring to life with a firm display of oranges, pink grapefruit and lime before trending nearly sherbet-like with a slight zesty twang. While the late palate brings an herbal mint profile with a fresh pine needle character, a resemblance to botanical gins start to take hold.
Medium bodied and trending malty dry, the linger of pastry sweetness keeps the hops and fruit esters highlighted but at the sacrifice of dryness. Its a flavorful IPA that nearly shows the full range of the Waimea hop to its fullest.
