Twinning off of their "With Haze Wide Open" IPA, an Amarillo fueled New England styled IPA with low bitterness, full fruity flavor and a creamy texture now employs the copious use of papaya for a decidedly tropical tilt to this citrusy ale.
Welcome This Haze, I'll Show You Everything comes with the same silt lined turbid appearance and a creamy, fluid froth as many of their hazy IPA, a candied papaya aroma follows and dominates the grapefruit and pineapple scent of the hops. The malts make a big impact once again with rich suggestions of honey, shortcake and cereal that give the early palate a pastry sweet upstart.
The creamy sweetness of grains wrap around the papaya as the middle palate is even more as juicy and radiant as the nose promised. Mango, orange, pineapple and nectarine come to mind as the tropical fruit lay succulent, tangy and exotic tracks on the tastebuds. Trending herbal, lightly spicy and moderately resinous, the hop balance does little more than take a slight edge off of the malt sweetness.
Medium bodied, creamy and fat with cereal grains on the late palate, the beer's lasting tastes are those of tropical fruit puree in nearly a sherbet-like fashion. A mild hint of cedar, sassafras and pine gives the Amarillo hops a perfect home with this fruit bomb of a beer.
