This is a public service announcement that there were no dogs harmed in the making of this beer. And now back to your regularly scheduled beer review...
Made with pawpaw fruit instead, Mirror Twin brewers celebrate the regional Kentucky delicacy in what they do best- a New England styled IPA with a fruity twist. Starchy, cereal-like and creamy, Ain't No Laws When You're Drinkin Paws carries a nearly tropical fruit flavor across a pale goldenrod appearance and a scent scathed with honeysuckle, pastry dough and hints of banana cream.
But as the ale embarks upon the middle palate, its the hop-centric taste of mango, orange, grapefruit, papaya and lime that carries the ale into the melon-like, near banana and pudding-ish taste of pawpaws. Trending moderately bitter, the even keel beer trails into a spicy taste of light cedar, vodka and fresh cut grass nearing its finish.
Medium bodied and trending soft with toasty, peppery flavors, a mild and spicy resin quality has the flavors favoring IPA over anything orchard fruit as the IPA fades into a malty dry, peppery and fresh sprucy aftertaste.
