Continuing their citrusy trends, the full use of Mandarina Bavarian and Amarillo hops fuel Mirror Twin's passion for the hazy, this time in imperial form.
Hay orange with a matte goldenrod finish, a radiant and ripe scent of citronella wafts across the nose along with bolder, scents of grapefruit, tropical, stone fruit and botanicals in tow. Early malt creaminess is cast in a, cereal sweetened, pastry and honey taste of toasted grains.
As the hops begin to build upon the middle palate, the radiance of mandarin oranges play out like branch-ripe tangerines, blood orange, kumkwat and nectarine before a racy acidity of pink grapefruit renders the malt to to a supportive role. Candied oranges, tangy fruits and a hint of honey and caramel is backed up with nuances of mango, apricot and peach. Spicy and lightly bitter, the late palate is smooth with herbal tea, verbena and sassafras.
Medium full in body, the lightly carbonated ale sits weightily on the palate with a light spice of botanical gin, curacao and vodka before a medium length aftertaste of hop spice, pine, grasses and alcohol.
