Boldly taking IPA where IPA has never gone before⦠the hops of Nelson Sauvin and Galaxy load aboard the Mirror Twin brewery and take an adventurous trip into the hazy, imperial universe.
Pouring with the expected matte goldenrod appearance, the frothy ale passes the nose with tangy tropical fruit, citrus, berry, wine and herb for a tantalizing and tea-like scent. Sweeter to taste, a base of pastry breadiness, light honey and whole wheat adds a base of malt for balance and subtlety.
As the hops bounce off of the malts, the Galaxy hops bring its green tropical taste of papaya, gooseberry, mango and kiwi while the Nelson Sauvin adds pink grapefruit, white grape and an overall vinous taste to the party. They come together to add a peppery and botanical bitterness to finish the session with lemongrass, matcha tea and a cedar-like bite.
Medium full and lingering on the tongue with a bittersweet medley of spruce and pastry dough, the roundness of gin-like botanicals linger in a spicy aftertaste and citrusy after palate.
