Piggy backing off of the previous beers in the "Monster", New England-styled IPA series, this monster of a peach beer have these twins acting more like quintuplets.
Pouring with the same pastel gold, turbid straw appearance and cast in a dull matte finish, Peach Monster wastes no time capturing the nose with a rich fruit-filled scent that hinges on citronella and stone fruit. A rich, creamy and generous sweetness of cereal, shortbread, honey and agave.
But the combination of hop and peach steal the show as the ale leaps from the early palate and onto the middle. The luscious overtones of peaches are propped up by the hops strong orange, red grapefruit and subtle pineapple undertow in taste. Trending herbal and tea-like, the late palate is filled a smooth bitterness that leans on verbena, fresh spruce and a nearly minty bite.
Full bodied and rather rich on the tongue, the beer's malty-dry finish sides slightly with the grain sweetness for a refreshing but off-crisp dryness. A linger of fruit makes the session pastry-like and with the medium long afterglow of jam and rollup candy.
