For those times when the roasty, toasty and savory needs are to be met, but with a sensible drinkability that won't fatigue the senses, Mirror Twin teams up with Nate's Coffee for just the beer.
HazelBeans kicks off with a frothy but short lived froth over top of a mostly clear medium brown body. The scent favors its HazelBeans namesake well with a savory scent of coffee, chocolate, nuttiness and toasted grains that's sure to appease the coffee lover in all of us. Sweeter on the tongue, a medium coat of caramel, toffee, chocolate and sorghum starts the show with a malty tone.
As the savory malt sugars and chocolate influences wash the middle palate, a patient transition toast, coffee and roasted nuttiness eventually overtakes the sweetness on the way to a malty dry taste late with a mild woodsy hop balance and a slight peppery nature from those coffee additions.
Medium body and lightening toward the finish, the beer's malty, semi-sweet taste lingers with remnants of nuttiness, cola, sorghum and cocoa with a mild tannic bite but a generally good drinkability.
