Double dry-hopped and styled in the hazy fashion, it almost doesn't matter which hops you use. Almost... with the success of their "Monster" IPA series, Mirror Twin Brewing veers from their standard strength trends and takes a more less scary approach to the New England-styled "Session" IPA
Pale straw and light pastel in its shaddowy shades, a creamy lather of cotton-white froth begins to build. But the magic begins as Lil' Mosaic Monster floods the nose with all-things-citrus and a backdrop of berry, tropical fruit, citronella and herb. As its crisp malts begin to skirt along the tongue, its mild cereal, honeysuckle and angel food sweetness acts as a light buffer from the growing hops to come.
But the hops once again win out quickly on the middle palate as its citrusy tone unleashes a flood of slightly tangy tangerine, lime and pink grapefruit. The succulent tropical hints of mango and passionfruit make their way into the tangy fruit display much like a dry sherbet. The beer trends moderately bitter, herbal and pleasantly resinous with suggestions of fresh cannabis, lemongrass, green tea and sassafras.
Medium-light in body and flirting with actual dryness the crisp cereal balance gives the citrus and tropical flavors a nearly tart, sherbet softness. A finish of lemon leaf and botanical greens trend medium-length and bitterly balanced in a bubbly, racy aftertaste.
