The beer that put Mirror Twin on the hazy map goes under revision for a fruitier, tangier and more pastry-like flavor. With the aid of pomegranate and pineapple, Hazy But Lazy sure does go to work!
Pomegranate & Pineapple Hazy But Lazy pours with a slightly muddy appearance of burnt peach, matte mauve and pastel taupe that's then soaked with tangy berry and tropical perfume. Deliciously sweet and calm on the early palate, the taste opens up with cereal, pastry and shortcake.
The uptick in fruit flavors dominate the middle palate with the tangy succulence of pomegranate berries and the sweet rounded taste of pineapple, nearly dwarfing the hops and their finer nuances. Only hints of orange, mango, grapefruit, passionfruit and papaya peak through the fruit additions. Applying a light bitterness on the throat, the late palate is persistently sweet, creamy and quite tart to go along with the herbal complement of geranium, chive and tea.
Medium-full and quite plush for IPA, this lazy beer finishes fruity and cream with a smooth suggestion of balancing bitterness. Finishing malty and fruity, its aftertaste is medium in length framing a more floral and grassy lasting taste.
