There's no crying in beer, unless you're Mirror Twin Brewing. They're crying tears of Mosiac and Citra in their New England-styled IPA that celebrates Cryo-Mosaic and Cryo-Citra hops in this 2021 Hazeapalooza release.
With a strong and hazy silt, Cryobolical builds a creamy white foam over a pastel matte body underneath. With a burst of citrus, tropical and herbal aromas, the initial character of citronella spills onto the nose. Sweeter and laden with cereal, the early malt impressions are creamy with hints of vanilla, shortbread, cereal and honeysuckle.
As the hops roll along the middle palate, the juicier flavors of tangerine, lime, mango, pineapple and passionfruit that patiently start to replace malty sweetness for a turn to bitterness. Trending spicy with hints of cedar, hemp, fresh-cut grass and tea, its hop balance is medium while hints of blackcurrant, lime and black tea strengthen late in taste.
Medium bodied, creamy and plush on the palate, the creamy beer turns malty-dry in a finish that favors the hops. Finishing fruity and bitter, the beer lingers with an aftertaste of tea, cannabis and cream.
