In what's probably the cheapest tropical vacation that one can take, Mirror Twin opens up the senses to tropical tartness, soothing creaminess and an overwhelming sense of island life, this beer actually plays reggae music for you if you listen real close.
Peachy mauve and with a rusty pink hue, the hazy Perpetual Vacation Vol. 2 kicks off with a radiant perfume of tropical fruit, citrus, orchard fruit and a light herbal presence to tease the nose with all-things-tropic. As the flavors soon follow, a creamy sense of pastry tarte soothes the early palate with a hint of vanilla, cereal and cream.
Deliciously rounded as the grains keep a creamy sense of balance through the middle palate, the fruits of passionfruit additions and natural lemon and lime spring to life in a racy, sassy, not-so-subtle way. As aspects of the banana, vanilla and cream of wheat keep the tartness rounded and smooth, the sourness intensifies into a vinous, piquant and herbal acidity to appease those who prefer more sour than smoothie.
Medium bodied yet trending light, crisp and refreshing, the off-dry ale provides a great sense of flavor without giving up drinkability. Drinking much like a tropical wine cooler, this vacation finishes playfully fruit, succinctly sour and with a hint of burlap in a fast fleeting afterglow.
