Taking their hazy game to new heights, Mirror Twin looks up to the Strata hop variety to get that unique red berry flavor and as the growers describe this hop flavor: passion meets pot.
Drawing with a hazy pour into the glass, Up In The Stratas Beer layers with a dense layer of eggshell froth. Pastel, matte and densely packed with grain, the nose leads with a tropical, racy, tangy and citrusy zing. Not unlike citronella, the beer's scent quickly leads to a starchy sweetness of cereal grains, malt, vanilla and cream.
As the Strata hops blossom on the middle palate, they bring an early flavor of strawberry with a backdrop of young orange, pink grapefruit, lime and lemon. As a more tropical turn happens, the flavors trend in the direction of pineapple, passionfruit and papaya. With the creaminess of pawpaw, the late taste invites a soft and herbal bitterness of green tea, hemp and chive.
Medium bodied and seeming fuller in flavor, the hazy IPA finishes on the fruitier and sweeter side of bitter-sweet with an medium length afterglow of citronella once more.
