Placing a softer edge on their American Pale Wheat Ale, Mirror Twin takes inspiration from Betty White when introducing their beer to elements of sugar cookie and lavender tea for a soothing session with a little spice.
Betty White Challenge comes with a pale and lemony fog, topped with a creamy stark white froth. As its sugary sweet scent gravitates toward confectioner's scents, dough and floral arrangements, its taste focuses around the bready-sweet malts. Sugar cookie, powdered sugar, cream of wheat and vanilla all show impressions of vanilla cream soda.
With the sweetness simmering softly on the middle palate, the more floral tones turn herbal with the lavender and pleasant grassy flavors carrying a mild candy character of pez and pixie sticks. A light and herbal balance steps in late to dry the beer slightly for a greater sense of refreshment.
Medium bodied and sweet throughout, the gain influences show a mustiness of sourdough late in taste before the beer finishes malty-dry with a botanical mint aftertaste.
