With a keen eye on those New Zealand hops, Mirror Twin goes double oats with a New England-styled IPA that's about as precious as they come.
Haze of the Rings kicks off with a pastel golden pearl appearance and with a visual matte texture on the glass. As a dense blanket of foam skirts the brim, a bright and botanical scent of citrus, tropical and vanilla-like spice carry an herbal and grassy presence as well. Sweeter and creamier on the tongue, the first sip is rich with and suggestions of honeysuckle, pastry dough a smooth milky sweetness.
As the hops abound on the middle palate, a brighter taste of white grapefruit, lime and light orange develop into a more tropical taste of pineapple and papaya. Slowly trending herbal, sprucy and smoothly bitter, the fruit flavors start to take on the character of their rinds, oils and peels as the ale steps closer to finishing.
Medium full, rounded and smooth throughout, the hazy IPA finishes malty-dry with a cereal finish that balances with an herbal finish of green tea, verbena and sassafras. A medium length finish has the beer coming back for another quick and precious sip once again.
