Waking up to Saturday morning cartoons has never tasted sweeter or more savory, nor has it been so relaxing. Mirror Twin Brewing takes up back to our youth with a waffle and syrup flavored Blond Ale for something worth crawling out of bed.
Hazy and light gold, Saturday Morning Cartoons releases a creamy off-white froth before teasing the nose with promises of Eggos, maple, cereal and cream. In taste, the early impressions are elevated with the creamy sweetness of grain, malt, cereal and syrup all in a lightly toasty display.
Savory, sweet and light on the middle palate, the Blond Ale continues to wash the palate with waffle and maple flavors, eventually giving way to the underling cereal sweetness of the beer underneath. Closing out with a slight hop bite, a hint of citrus comes out to play before putting this cereal inspired beer to rest.
Medium-light in body and finishes more savory and creamy than crisp, the beer is a childhood breakfast in a glass. It finishes light and malty with a medium length afterglow of syrup for a fun, but untraditional session.
