Showcasing the total array of aromas, flavors and herb that give Strata hops a wide range of flavors that come through proudly upon a malty, creamy and doughy base of hazy IPA. Mirror Twin really puts the hops on a pedestal with this monster of a beer.
So, Strata Monster comes with a foggy, ruddy golden haze and topped with a quick collapsing head. Citrus, tropical fruit, berry and botanical herbs round the nose along with a dense and doughy center. Pastry-like flavors layer on the tongue with an angel food cake, light granola and honey dipped melody.
The lingering malt starches and supportive sweetness swirls on the middle palate and brings those hoppy aromas into tasty fruition. Passionfruit, under ripened orange, candied grapefruit come from the fruity contention before its berry-like taste comes with rhubarb, cranberry and currant. The juiciness of honeydew and dragon fruit keeps the late palate rounded even while a spice of lemon verbena, sassafras and green tea bring a moderate, bitter balance to the finish.
Medium balanced yet seemingly fuller because of the beer's light carbonation and depth of malty weight. A light alcohol spice of vodka teases the throat while a grassy, herbal and geranium aftertaste gives impressions of hemp, spruce and leaf.
