Highlighting the grassroots women brewer society of Pink Boots, Mirror Twin breaks out their pink boots for a Sultan hop infused hazy pale ale that's friendly on the palate.
Pinky and the Grain kicks off with a slightly hazy amber and a frothy off-white crown. Drifting across the nose with those specific tropical and citrus aromas, the nose is met with a soft caramelized malt scent that leads in perfectly to that first sip of caramel, graham cracker and granola.
As the hops open up on the middle palate, the flavors of pineapple leap right out. A quick followup of citrus flavors share lemon, grapefruit and orange. As hints of apricot, mango and nectarine show promise, the flavors develop a balancing bitterness of fresh grassiness, botanical herb and soft spruce.
Medium bodied and easy on the palate, the pale ale is classic in its balance but unique in its hop profile to make it both comforting and playful to the palate. A medium length aftertaste is led with hop flavors and a linger of light toasty malt to make this session effortless, easy and highly refreshing.
