Continuing their trend of pushing IPA beyond bitterness, the Mirror Twin team steers their aromatic and flavorful hop bomb into the direction of papaya and scotch bonnet peppers in an attempt to blur the line between what's an IPA and what's a fruit and vegetable beer.

I Love It When You Call Me Big Papaya carries its hazy golden orange appearance underneath a creamy ivory foam and a scent that's fruity with a tropical perfume and a twinge of peppery spice. Sweeter once on the tongue, the beer's cereal, honey and floral sweetness is creamy, rife with malt and nougat-like.

As the sweetness carries over to the middle palate, the hops show their dominance with tropical flavors of mango, pineapple, passionfruit and gooseberry while a citrusy complement of orange and lime tease the tastebuds with a zesty pep of flavor. But its the papaya that carries the fruity load into a late palate of juicy honeydew along with that expected warmth from the Caribbean pepper. Light bitterness reminds us that an IPA is still presence, but its smooth finish remains creamy and fruity instead.

Full bodied, creamy and with a soothing sensation of vanilla, cream and coconut, the beer finishes fruity, fresh and warming with the continues spice of chilies. Medium-long in its aftertaste, the vegetal fruitiness has a seamless lead into a warmth that's slightly more elevated than the herbal alcohol itself.
