Easy, effortless and comforting on the palate, Mirror Twin's collaboration ale with Family Dog is simply a doggone good beer.
Built in the Vienna Lager style, Howl-O-Ween pours with a generous amber-golden hue and with mostly bright clarity. Frothy initially, the beer falls foamless shortly after releasing a savory perfume of bread crust, light pecan and a floral honey . Sweeter with those honey flavors, the early taste is malt forward with additional flavors of croissant.
As the floral hops turn mildly spicy, the trailing malt sweetness balances with a slim grassy hop presence with light mint, parsley and a simple broad woodiness.
Medium bodied, soft and yet with character, the very simple taste of the light amber lager had it easy drinking, effortless on the palate and a beer fit for all occasions. Clean, crisp and refreshing, the lager leaves light impressions of thin cola and toasted nuttiness in a brief aftertaste.
