Radiant, bold and yet soft on the palate, Mirror Twin's annual collaboration with Pink Boots Society shows both the power and restraint of the pale ale. Fruity, hoppy and firm in its flavor but easy, comforting and smooth in its body, this ale showcases what's best about both organizations.
Pale and golden taupe, Pink To The Past carries a citrusy, tropical and fruity perfume across a creamy white froth in citronella and mixed green fashion. As its gentle angel food cake flavors come with a lightly doughy sweetness, hints of caramel and honey decorate the early palate.
As the hops come out to play, a lighter tone of peach, mango and apricot seem fruit rollup-like but with a soft citrus representation of orange and pink grapefruit. Papaya, passionfruit and honeydew keep the fruit-centric taste alive as the late taste develops a soft spruce, balsa, tea-like finish.
Medium bodied because of its hazy character, the session is smooth, easy drinking and comfortable to the palate even as it fades into a balance that's more malty than dry. A short aftertaste of muddled fruit peels and tea trail into a medium-length linger.
