Taking the tastebuds on a tropical vacation, Mirror Twin brewers pull strawberries and banana from the tropics and roll them into a clean sour ale for that certain cocktail character.
Rusty, rosy and mauve, Tropic Magic races into the glass with a spritzy, foamy froth before falling away. As the fruit filled scents of berries and banana offer a tropical overlay with an undercurrent of citrus, cider and wine, the scent soon leads to a tangy sweetness of taffy, sourdough and light cereal.
The sweetness dissolves effortlessly to let the fruits to shine. But the first fruit impressions are of lemon, green apple, lime, white grape, passionfruit and gooseberry from the underlying fermentation acidity. As the red berry and banana flavors intertwine with the citrusy sourness, a sense of fruit cocktail, fruit punch and banana split all come to mind.
Medium-light in body, the ale trends dry, brisk and pleasantly tart with a medium-short aftertaste of plump berries and banana with echoes of sourdough in tow.
