"Another One" (In our DJ Khaled voice). We really liked using the hop kief on hazy new year, so we decided to use it again with a different hop variety. "Kief Sheppard", an 8.5% double NEIPA featuring Nelson Sauvin Hop Kief, along with Citra and El Dorado hops. A citrus and dank combo with a little extra punch from the 8.5% abv. The sun is staying out longer, the days are warming up a bit. Get down here tonight and grab a pint.

Pours straw yellow in color with a lively white head.
Nose is citrus and earthy. Taste is sweet, not much citrus flavors which is surprising given the nose. Almost a light candy flavor. Wasn't much follow through across the palate. Smooth drinking beer, especially considering it is 8.5%, sure doesn't drink like an Imperial.

Unlocking what's best about hops, the advancement of elevated hop flavor and aroma just kiefs on going! A special kiefing process now allows Nelson Sauvin hops to see new brightness and flavor thanks to Mirror Twin.

Also brewed with Citra and El Dorado hops, Kief Sheppard sits with a dimly lit canary yellow appearance with a lightly silted taupe tinge. As its creamy eggshell froth promptly sits on the rim, an abundance of hop perfumes share tropical, citrus, vinous and candied fruit character. Sweetened with cereal, honeysuckle and poundcake, a richer grain sweetness hits the palate early.

As the session extends onto the middle palate, the hops simply shine with tangerine, pink grapefruit and lemon before venturing into more tropical flavors of passionfruit, papaya, pineapple, white grape and gooseberry. While a vinous and winey tone casts over the late palate, a smoothly bitter balance brings green tea, verbena, dank herbs, sassafras, geranium and spruce tips.

Full bodied for IPA, the creamy ale certainly has an elevated fruitiness that takes away the grain and cereal must character and keeps the session more floral and fruity later in taste.
