As the monster marches on, it picks up new hops and showcases them promptly and proudly. Mirror Twin just keeps feeding the monster; this time with Sultana hops.
Pale and canary yellow, the densely hazy Sultana Monster pulls from the ale with a bright white cap of foam. With a bright and lemony scent rising from the bubbles, so do the perfumes of citrus, tropical and spruce. Sweeter in its early taste, a lightness of angel food cake, agave and cereal form a firm grain foundation.
As the Sultana hops continue to dominate the taste, the tangy and lemony character of hops tread on passionfruit, kiwi and honeydew flavors as well. Under ripened versions of orange, pineapple, mango and grapefruit keep the complex flavors flowing right into a smoothly bitter finish of balsa, spruce and green tea.
Medium bodied, creamy and smooth throughout, the ale finishes on the sweeter side of malty-dry and with an even-keel bitter-sweet balance that flows into a lemony aftertaste of green tea and verbena.

Pale yellow, maybe dried straw in color with the typical hazy appearance. White head. Nose is pineapple and maybe passion fruit. Taste was a bit lackluster. Not much realy citrusy flavors. Feel was as taste, not much there.

I tried this beer off the tapper as part of a five sample flight at the brewery whilst in Lexington with the Old Oswego Crew for our annual beer trip. This was a very good hazy ipa with juicy citrus fruit scent and taste.
