As the mirror monster marches on, it picks up new hops and showcases them promptly and proudly. Mirror Twin just keeps feeding the monster; this time with Alora hops.
Pale and pastel yellow, the densely hazy Alora Monster pulls from the depths with a bright white cap of foam. With a bright and lemony scent rising from the bubbles, so do the perfumes of citrus, tropical and stone fruit. Sweeter in its early taste, a lightness of angel food cake, agave and cereal form a firm grain foundation as always
As the Alora hops start to dominate the taste, the tangy and lemony character of hops tread on apricot, nectarine and orange flavors as well. Under ripened versions of pineapple, kiwi, passionfruit and grapefruit keep the complex flavors flowing right into a smoothly bitter finish of basswood, sandalwood and green tea.
Medium bodied, creamy and smooth throughout, the ale finishes on the sweeter side of malty-dry and with an even-keel bitter-sweet balance that flows into a lemon peel aftertaste of matcha tea and verbena.
