Poured from a pint can younger than three weeks old purchased at the brewery, into two snifters.
Look: Black, with a slight brown head that dissipated very quickly to a slight foam ring and only slight lacing.
Nose: Coconut, cooked brown sugar, dark and milk chocolate, alcohol.
Attack: Sweet — not quite cloying — and follows the nose closely. Very flavorful. The coconut is very nice.
Finish: The chocolate lingers and moves into slight bitterness from the roast to balance the attack.
Mouthfeel: Thick and creamy, adequate carbonation.
Overall: This is quite good — very nice work, Mirror Twin! The nose is amazing, and the flavor quite good. I’d happily drink it again, though I’m not sure I’d buy it again — $20 for the two-pack puts at nearly it half again the price per ounce (for comparison) of a Founders KBS Chocolate Espresso. Still, a very good brew.
