Turning dessert into beer is a notion that's been trending for a while now and Mirror Twin embraces the fusion with blueberry, pastry nuance and a tart base flavor for a taste of summer the way that grandma made it.
Pouring striking clear, I Only Have Pies For You comes bubbly and bright with a tinge of chrome. With no real froth to build, the scent of blueberry is moderate and inviting, sharing only a slim background floral sweet scent of honeysuckle. Any sweetness is also mild as a thin veil of pastry dough present. With no real hop presence, the blueberry flavor elevates above the sweetness with a soothing fruit flavor and a tangy, slightly acetic tartness that rounds out the balance.
Light, perhaps thin and somewhat watery, the lightness of the sour is appreciated but the beer ultimately comes up a bit flimsy.
