Roasty, toasty and capped off with nightcap sweetness, Mirror Twin takes the Mexican hot chocolate to the French press side of things.
Pouring jet black and with an onyx-like sheen, Mi Pequena Cafe comes even layered with an espresso-like creme. As a sweeter scent of chocolate greets the nose, so do a blend of deep roast coffee, cinnamon spice and a warming scent of kahlua and cream. Expectedly sweet, a nutty sweetness of molasses, toffee and chocolate gives derby pie vibes while the dark roast coffee adds a java jolt of savor. Cinnamon spice adds a depth of complexity and a balance for the lingering sweetness until the kahlua-like warmth shows up to finish off with cookies and cream.
Full bodied, off-cloying and sweet throughout, the session is a sharable glass as only a few ounces are needed to finish off the night.
