Cloudy orange-tan color. The head formed medium sized bubbles and disappeared completely after a few seconds like a typical soft drink. No lacing at all. Could see a high flow of medium sized bubbles rising at the edge of the glass, but this slowed down after a few seconds to a low flow of bubbles that could be seen at the surface.
Starts off with a fruity, light barnyard. After a few seconds a mild malt shows up. Swirling the glass briefly boosts the light fruity barnyard. After a few seconds it smells a bit more of orange heavy citrus.
Tart with strong citrus - mandarin orange dominates, but I can also taste the lemon. A bit of barnyard funk and some mild malt show up after it warms a bit on the tongue. The aftertaste is a more sharp lemon and some bitters.
Quite tingly on the tongue, but generates little lasting foam. A bit astringent.
The flavor is much stronger than typical for a pre-packaged radler. The malt is very distinct and the touch of barnyard makes this more complex than the typical lager based radler. The mandarin orange is an interesting departure. When making radlers, I usually use pompelmo/grapefruit instead of the traditional lemon. The mandarin takes this in a different direction that reminds me more of winter holidays. I prefer the "Crispy Winter Radler" over this.
