draught
Light ivory head. Opaque, nearly black look. Aroma consists of fairly dark roasted grains, with a bit of medium dark toasted malt and touch of wood in there. Flavors of medium dark roasted grains and a touch of woodiness, though thin and trails off quickly.

Beautiful dark rich body but man even a moderate pour initially yielded 85% foam coursing up over the edge of the glass. Once I settled in and took it a little more gentle it gives me a nice soft froth of light brown that seems content to linger and stick to the glass. I love big sticky heads so this puts a smile on my face.
Nose is subtle pleasant roast with a light touch of green coffee. The aroma is driven almost entirely by the classic roasty porter aromas.
Flavour is more of the same: the porter aspect is very definitively the driver here. There's some coffee roast to the end and maybe a touch of black beans wafting around the rafters, but the coffee is subtle here at best. It works really well, and I say that as someone who appreciates coffee and enjoys it in my beer. The porter aspect leans into the roast with some chocolate creaminess and maybe a touch of lactose impression.
Smoothe body and quite drinkable. Creamy/sticky. I digs it.

Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing nearly opaque black in the glass with a half finger dark khaki head with good retention and nice lacing. Aroma of dark toasted and dry biscuit malt, coffee, dark chocolate and a little caramel, nice. Flavor is dark toasted malt, mild lactose, coffee and cocoa, well integrated, with a light, quality coffee finish. Medium bodied with light creaminess. A very smooth and well balanced coffee porter. The coffee flavor is authentic and flavorful, but melded into the malt flavor. The malt is also smooth, with more of mixture of biscuit and dark toasted malt, resembling a full bodied milk stout more than a porter. In my book, this is a great supporting malt for a coffee beer. This is quite nice, if a bit mellow.
