This packs a fair bit of peanut butter on the nose & palate that lingers throughout with a decent nuttiness, but ultimately everything else falls short. Barrel is non-existent. Needs more chocolate and barrel. Medium thinner bodied, ultimately one-note.

Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing opaque black in the glass with a thin, dark khaki head that dissipates to patches with slight lacing. Aroma of dark toasted malt, oak, bourbon, peanut butter and a touch of cocoa. Flavor is dark toasted malt, peanut butter, nuts, bourbon, cocoa and vanilla. Medium bodied with moderate creaminess; silky mouth feel. A solid, full bodied imperial stout that leans towards a pastry style character. Good peanut butter flavor, but not intrusive. Clear barrel notes of bourbon with a little oak. There seem to be a few versions of this, with a coffee one and this one with peanut butter, chocolate and vanilla. Randomly purchased, but glad I got the peanut butter version, I really like nutty flavors in stouts. Nicely done.
