Dark brown body. Creamy smooth milk chocolate, medium flaked oat, a bit of toasted darker grain, pumpernickel and mild nuttiness. Smooth, medium bodied, creamy and drinks like a full flavored Guinness would. Good, mellow carbonation.

Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing nearly opaque black in the glass with a half finger dark khaki head with good retention and nice lacing. Aroma of dark toasted and biscuit malt, cocoa, graham cracker, hints of vanilla and coffee. Flavor is dark toasted malt with mild char, milk chocolate, graham cracker, vanilla and a little coffee developing into the finish with light residual char. Medium bodied with moderate, silky creaminess, great mouthfeel. A fine oatmeal stout with a flavor that leans in the direction of a milk stout, but with a little more chocolate character. For me, one of the outstanding features of an oatmeal stout is a creamy mouth feel and this one delivers. Flavor is a bit subdued, but nicely balanced and tasty. A well made and enjoyable oatmeal stout. This can listed a 6.5% ABV, slightly less than the listing.
