there a bunch of these obviously, no sure how fast they come and go, i am 99% sure this is the one we had, all the berries, boysenberry, blackberry, raspberry, blueberry i think, really impressive beer, in a style i usually find unrefined and even kind of gross, but this is money, perhaps the best smoothie or slushie or slurpy style sour ive ever encountered, and my wife liked it as much as i did. ruse is super impressive. its literally crayon purple, highlighted some by the angular stemless glass they rightly serve it in, its pulpy, literally chunky, but its fruit not yeast, and unlike so many its not full of sludge or sand or trub and presents as intentionally this way, even refined for what it is, but surely this is on the edge of not being beer, no grain elements to be found. that said, this electric violet elixir is incredible, blackberry and boysenberry sweet and jammy, the others lightly tannic, less sweet, slightly medicinal too, sweet but only fruity sweet, not lacto sweet to me, no marshmallow or vanilla either i dont think, which keeps this away from the dessert trap, fruity as it is. its all fruity pulp in the texture, like the rawest of orange juices, chunky from fruit, probably real fruit puree, not whole berries, the saturation of color and flavor is insane, seems not even possible unless by magic. notes of black cherry and black currant here too, a little huckleberry sweetness, blueberry tang, and no more acidity than it needs, despite being kind of lactic and lemony. really different and really good, the best refined of these ive ever seen for a chunky beer, and this is what i think i always wanted from shades and some others playing in this space, so clean for being so thick. still though, the style is weird, there is no sign of malt or hops in this at all, but you have to respect the effort. one of a kind and super delicious, i hope to try more from this series now! gold standard new school sour. rating highly less for the beer overall vs all beer, but for this beer vs its peers...

The nose is a beautiful riot of fruit puree with the blend of blackberries, raspberry and cherries bright and jammy. The palate is all fruit puree, thick, jammy, pulpy with lovely fruit flavor up front. This is followed by a rather acidic berry character biting and mildly tannic. Unholy.
