Dark red-amber color with adequate foam in the tumbler. LIght-weight mouthfeel. Not much aroma, but a nose of lemon and leaf mold. Not at all sweet, with a ghost of malty flavor. Quite resiny and very hoppy. Bitterness is not so severe, though certainly distinct. Aftertaste is woody, barky, stemmy, etc. This is at least not as bitter as some Ambers, but rather austere. From the 16 oz can purchased at Elizabeth Station. Dated 02/20/24

Look: Dark amber in color with a lofty khaki head that quickly balloons to the rim and slowly recedes to a pillow, leaving sheets of lacing clung to the glass
Aroma: Sweet rose flowers, caramel, Hall’s honeysuckle, room temp rose, red apple skins, melanoidin, and freshly baked bread
Taste: Whoa. Lychee fruit, sweet rose, and room temp rose come together and hit hard up front as other floral notes trickle in behind, including honeysuckle, olive, and butterfly bush. Warm bread, caramel, and some apple-led fruity esters are abound in the background throughout – except for in the beginning, and closes with the return of any and everything rose
Mouthfeel: Full, soft, clean, medium-high carbonation, and clean and slightly soft on the finish
Overall: I’m really digging this one. I don’t think I’ve ever had a fresh hop Amber Ale before so was actively seeking this out and was pumped to find it. The fresh Centennials affinity to bring sweet rose/lychee to the table is prominent here and I feel work very well in tandem with an Amber Ale base beer as both Centennials and Amber Ales lean to the sweeter side. This is an interesting and well-crafted offering and one I’m glad not only to have tried but glad I grabbed a full 4pk as these are a great change-of-pace fresh hop beer to work in amongst the typical pale offerings
