Kölsch, first brewed in Köln (Cologne) Germany, is one of just a few traditional German ales. We brew That’s Gold! in homage to this classic German style with a nod to the golden ales of American craft heritage. Pilsner malt malted in Milwaukee takes center stage with just enough hops to create a balanced and very drinkable beer.

12oz can, snifter glass. Pours a clear golden yellow body, two finger frothy white head, great retention, lots of lacing. Smell is mildly restrained floral notes, grainy biscuit, a bit of bread and mineral. Straightforward. Flavour is a nice combination of grainy biscuit, nuttiness, bread, mineral, mildly earthy floral notes on the finish. It's a bit different than typical kolsches, in that it has this nuttiness to it that I actually enjoyed, to my surprise. Medium bodied, good carbonation, solidly constructed body with a mild mineral, earthy and nutty finish. Certainly a very interesting take on a kolsch that I liked more than I thought I would.
