Poured into a Duvel tulip
Hazy lemonade hue with short-lived 1/2 finger white frothy head with decent retention and lacing.
Tropical and citrus fruit aromas abound with grapefruit, pineapple, passion fruit, along with apricot and dank leafy and floral notes.
Flavor is also fruity and well-balanced with pretty assertive bitterness which is on-target. Pineapple and grapefruit with passion fruit upfront, like in the aroma, with more herbal honeysuckle and lemongrass notes in the finish. The maltiness is supporting despite the lower ABV, drinks slightly lighter than their DIPAs, with slightly sweet cracker character. Moderate bitterness.
Feel is slick and medium-bodied. I wish it was a little lighter and crisper but still it drinks well. Carbonation is low-medium.
Another stellar IPA by Basic City - I hope they keep this one as an every once in awhile offering.
