Solid true to style example of a dark lager. It helps that its fresh from brewery and not an import sitting on a shelf for months. 4.25

12oz can poured into a SA glass
A- pours deep brown in color with a one-finger creamy khaki colored head that has great retention
S- roasted cereal grains, chocolate, vanilla, caramel, earthy and floral hops
T- opens with notes of roast and chocolate up front with a hint of coffee. Mid-palate gives some earthy and floral hops, as well as a hint of caramel. The finish gives more chocolate with a linger of roasted malt
M- light-medium body with moderate carbonation leads to a foamy mouthfeel that continues into a creamy finish

The beer pours a nice-looking light tan creamy head that dissipates very quickly. The beer itself is a good looking dark chocolate black.
The smell is nice. It has a sweet chocolate and roasted malt note alongside the clean yeast note.
The taste is very good. It has a mix of roasted chocolate malt and creamy note with a slight coffee flavor. There is a slight floral and earthy hop bitterness to it in the finish.
The feel is good. It has a creamy texture and light carbonation with a dry finish.
Overall, this is a pretty good beer worth getting. I definitely recommend it.

16 ounce draft pour into a Willi Becher.
Dark caramel brown pour with a one finger off-white head. The creamy nitro-like foam has decent retention and leaves sheets of lace behind. A sweet-indicating fruity aroma, somewhat dried berry-like, leads, with some roasted malt and cola aromas underneath. Tasting cleaner and less sweet than the nose advertises, it is malty, though a bit tangy, with a mild bitter floral and earthy hop finish. Medium creamy feel with enough carbonation for a crisp peak in the middle. Straightforward and subtle, but in a quality manner. Very enjoyable.

From the can, it pours a darker brown color with reddish hightlights and a nice off-white head that slowly diminishes and leaves lacing. The nose gets some roasted malt and a slight caramel. The mouth follows with a pleasant lightly roasted malt flavor.

Appearance: Drafted 11oz pour into tulip with no head.
Aroma: None
Taste: Mild malt base with some bakers chocolate. The lack of nose foreshadowed the absence of taste.
Feel: Medium carbonation. Light.
Overall: This might be an acceptable transition to dark beer for someone who is only used to light lagers. The seasoned beer aficionado, however, will find it missing flavor, depth, and complexity.

On draft at the Richmond South location. Served in shaker pint glass
Very dark brown in color, almoat black. Khaki colored head, goos head retention. Nice mild toasted malt and cocoa aroma and flavor. Good balance, not too sweet. Medium to fuller bodied.
