She is a pretty looker, but substantively she fails. Red, gleaming, full on inch of head.
Aroma was atrocious. Like those big cities where people just dump garbage in the streets. Fuckin' mideival or however you spell it.
Taste was more of the same. Nasty peated malt heated up with grey water. Getting through this beer was a chore.

Pours red. Small head gone quickly. Not much carbonation. Smells and tastes slightly of hops then finishes malty. This I my opinion. My friend tastes hops at the end. I like this brewery so I'll say I've had better reds but I've had worse. The price is really reasonable.

Nice appearance, 1" head on it, lots of carbonation. Nice look for a red ale, its red, gleaming, nice tiny bubbles. Let the trashing begin:
The aroma was gross, hot peated garbage. Like it was equal parts malt and refuse. Do they keep their grain in a silo or a dumpster? Possibly some wood chips got co-mingled here.
Taste, ooh, more of that hot peated dumpster wood chip thing going on. Already glad this is the only bottle I have of this stuff, I think I picked up a premixed six pack of their stuff from Argonaut, and thought, why not, if its terrible, you can just drink another beer.
A little butterscotchy at times. An unpleasant bitterness throughout it as well. Did they add some hoppy generic cola here as well? What the heck is this?
This beer was just a mess for me after looking at it as a pretty beer. Smelled bad, tasted bad, never improved in the mouthfeel. It was difficult choking down my 6 oz, but I did successfully complete the beer.
Their lager was better.

12 oz into a pint
A - Pours a brown to amberish hue. Little carbonation shown, just a mocha colored film.
S - Lightly malty nose, just hints of caramel. Hopping is nowhere to be found.
T - Starts off lightly malty, the caramel and toffee lead the way. Hints of nutty flavors. Gets some decent bitterness and some hopping through the middle. Finishes balanced, some retained caramel.
M - Moderate body, light carbonation. Comes off somewhat heavy. Alcohol warmth not present. A little bit sticky.
O/D - A good amber ale. A bit filling. ABV is sessionable. Flavors aren't overwhelming to the palette, nice and complimentary to a meal. Worth a shot.

This red ale (which could mean a lot of things), IS a red ale, pouring dark, burnt ocherous, with low fading head, and little lacing. Smells is malt forward, and not much else. Maybe a bit sweet, maybe a bit hoppy. Taste is the same, somewhat one dimensional (and if this dimension is your, then so much the better), being malty biscuit forward, but expected for the style, and not especially bitter Carbonation is moderate, chewy but not chunky. An ale? Sure. And red, definitely. Not really my style, but a solid offering. Probably best with a meal.
