(16 oz can, 15% abv, no date/code; brewed in Phoenix; purchased cold at the brewery in Sept '25, shipped cross country... poured at 54 F into snifter)
L: dark tawny liquid with a very slight haze; very little foam, little collar... no lace
S: does actually have a heavy French toast vibe, mostly maple syrup, a little cinnamon; bready (caramelized crust) but not overtly malty... maybe a slight note of Cognac?
T: Cognac with some blackberry note... definitely thick malted, brown malt and medium-dark caramel malt; malt depth seemed cleaved by the booze, which has the mildest expression of ethanol heat... no residual sweetness or (hop) bitterness to cling to in a rather dull aftertaste; all top notes of added flavors (vanilla, maple); like coffee creamer nonsense
F: a bit of dextrinous swell, vaguely oily, clean warm finish... not chewy, not hot... flat, surgically sanded texture; boring
O: not a terribly interesting array of flavor expressions; pastry but too dry... not awful, but fairly two-dimensional, and too expensive (2504)
