This is tropical juice done unconventionally. Melons, grapefruit rind and passionfruit bow humbly before a tidal wave of refreshing coconut. Took a bit to come around on this one but by the third pint this was one of my favorites of 2017 so far. Huge props to Troon for doing something so unique within an already innovative style.
P.S. this is gulpable as fuck

This is my first beer from Troon, but will definitely not be my last! Poured from a growler into a tulip IPA glass. It's a nice opaque light amber color. Smells fresh and fruity, like a day at the beach. The taste is unique and delicious. I get some hoppy goodness, and loads of coconuty, tropical goodness from the Palo santo wood. It's really special. Definitely not the typical flavors you get from most small breweries. I keep savoring sips, hoping it doesn't end. One of the best local craft brews I've tried, and I've tried a lot! Troon breaks the mold in the best possible way. Well done.

Poured from fresh growler into Troon pint glass. It pours a hazy honey color with two fingers of fluffy, egg-white head and thick lacing. The Palo Santo wood gives it a nice spicy aroma along with the sweet melon and a hint of lemon peel. The flavor is really unique: it opens with sweet melon but with what I can best describe as an earthy, spicy wood taste. The is a hint of bitterness at the finish but it really doesn't drink like an IPA. It's tangy and really pleasing. It is medium-bodied with lively carbonation and the 7.8% ABV is well hidden. As advertised, it has the feel of a tropical punch or an umbrella drink. It's quite refreshing and a great beer for drinking outside on a hot, humid day. I can't say enough; this is just great!
