I had this on draught at the Brick Farm Tavern as a dessert beer. It pours almost black with dark walnut hues, and a thin, light mocha colored head and spotty lacing. Its fragrant nose features fresh coffee, fudge, vanilla, and a whiff of cherry. Wow, the cherry that I smelled really comes through in the taste! The Porter tastes like a chocolate covered cherry, along with coconut, subtle vanilla, and nuts. As the glass warms, the fresh cherry flavor really shines. It's not quite tart but not cloying either. It drinks more like a Stout than a Porter; rich and creamy in its body, with moderate carbonation, and its hefty 11.5% ABV is surprisingly tame. I didn't notice the alcohol and there is no burn at the finish. Overall, this is a delightful, cherry-forward Porter that is a perfect dessert beer after a fine Brick Farm Tavern meal.
