Sweet tropical hoppy, slightly malty, floral lemony-citrus, and an earthy hoppy nose on this one! Taste follows with a super-soft and fluffy, very malty, and an earthy hoppy bitter finish. This has an absolute world-class mouthfeel and is very enjoyable from that perspective! But, it is very malt dominant on the nose and palate...so much so that it overcomes any real hop expression here. This is my first try of a Troon "Hoppy Ale" and while I am so glad I got a chance to try this, it is more so because of its scarcity and difficulty procuring...not because it is so much better than what I regularly get. Not sure if it is just batch or if my expectations were too high, but after this experience, I won't be trying to track them down again.
