This has been sitting in my fridge for a few weeks. I figure, other styles are more date sensitive. A great porter actually might get better with some age. But were talking about a couple weeks anyway.
This beauty opens the deepest brown with nice fizzy lacing. The aroma is of peanut butter malt treat, which is what this is. They could have carried this taste into a boozier vein, but they left it not very big. It's a nice balance, not hard to drink.
Recommended. A nice, refreshing treat.

My problem with this is that it's not a Porter. A tasty brown ale, sure. But it's thinner than a Porter and lacks the mouthfeel and smokiness of a Porter. It's a very good brown ale, though. Hazelnut and vanilla come through.

Canned on 1/7/21. 12oz can poured into a tulip. Pours a dark brown with auburn hues; small khaki head that fades leaving decent retention and lacing. The aromas have peanut butter and hazelnuts leading the way. Hints of cocoa and vanilla. Malts are there. The flavors basically follow the nose. More peanut butter and hazelnuts. More cocoa along with some chocolate. More subtle hints of vanilla in the mix. Mild hints of coffee. Subtle sweetness. Moderate to low bitterness. Malts do their thing. Alcohol goes unnoticed. Mouthfeel is on the fuller side of light-bodied with moderate carbonation. It's fluffy, smooth and easy to drink.
This is a nice peanut butter porter. The peanut butter shines. It's straight forward and basically has everything that you'd look for. It's enjoyable stuff. I like it.
