Pours a pitch-black coloration with a tiny, fizzy head that soon fases away. Smells of slightly roasted, caramel malt and coffee, but really dominated by condensed milk, with a good, oaky, vanilla bourbon presence as well though. Taste is a good balance of slightly roasted, caramel malt, coffee, chocolate and dark fruits, with notes of plum and fig, as well as distinct condensed milk and bourbon notes, with hints of licorice, vanilla and oak also coming through. Finishes rather sweet, with some coffee, chocolate, bourbon and condensed milk lingering in the aftertaste. Full mouthfeel with a rich body and light/medium carbonation.
I was honestly a little disappointed by this after the raving reviews it seems to have received everywhere and my high expectations of the Silver Series. I guess plenty of people just love overly sweet and boozy stouts, although I have to concede that for 15% ABV this really isn't that bad. However, it really isn't for me personally. It's that quite dominant, sweet and creamy condensed milk note that's just not to my personal taste here. It does make for a rather rich brew with a good complexity, distinct bourbon character and great body and mouthfeel, but is just somewhat lacking in balance to my taste, which is the most important aspect of a BBA beer for me. Also, while there's a good coffee presence to this, it's not as intense as I had expected from this.

L: Jet black color, no head or lacing, no visible carbonation. Thick like motor oil.
S: Coffee, chocolate, alcohol. Smells amazing!
T: Coffee, chocolate, alcohol. Heaven on earth. One of the best tasting beers I ever had. Blown away.
F: Full bodied, thick and creamy, full flavored. Perfect.
O: World class imperial stout. On the top five I had tried. Nothing better on this very last day of 2019!
