Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a large dark brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of floral coffee notes with some light sweet black chocolate notes is quite enticing. Taste is a mix of huge floral coffee undertones with some lightly sweet black chocolate notes with a smooth lightly sweet finish. Body is full with nice creamy body with good carbonation. Solid coffee stout with nice complexity and very good drinkability.

Bottle at Las Buenas Pulgas, served in a snifter glass. Black color, small brown head with short retention. Tiny lacing. Aroma of coffee, dried fruits, aniseed, loquorice. Full body, sticky texture, flat carbonation. Sweet dry finish. Taste of coffee, liquorice, chocolate, dried fruits. Alcohol is very noticeable. Very good.

Pours a pitch-black coloration with a small, fluffy head. Smells of sweet caramel malt, some coffee, chocolate and hints of herbal hops. Taste follows the nose, with an okay balance of sweet caramel malt, some not too defined coffee, chocolate ands herbal hops. Finishes rather sweet, with a light bitterness and some coffee and chocolate lingering in the aftertaste. Full mouthfeel with a rich body and light/medium carbonation.

To me, a coffee stout is supposed to be dry, roasted and bitter and this fails on all fronts when it comes to this, with the focus being on sweet caramel malt here, and while they provide quite a nice richness, they also kinda overwhelm those coffee and bitter chocolate notes with their syrupy sweetness, which is a bit of a shame.
