Pours a cloudy amber coloration with a medium, fluffy head. Smells of biscuity, very slighty caramelly malt and tropical/berry hops, with notes of passion fruit and gooseberry, as well as just a hint of pine. Taste is a great balance of biscuity, very slightly caramelly malt and bitter, fruity and slightly resinous hops, with tropical, berry and citrus notes of passion fruit, mango, gooseberry, blueberry and grapefruit, as well as some pine. Finishes with a medium bitterness and some passion fruit, gooseberry and pine lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.
When I read "tropical fruit bomb" on the label, I was kinda expecting a NEIPA, while this is actually a classic American IPA with a light West Coast vibe to it, which is great. Very enjoyable brew with a great balance of fruity and bitter, resinous notes, as well as medium malt body and great bitterness in the finish. There are some of my favorite hop varieties in this and they work together very well here, with a great combination of tropical, citrus, berry and pine notes.
