Pours a pitch-black coloration with a small, fizzy head. Smells of roasted, caramel malt, dark chocolate and coconut, with hints of vanilla as well. Taste is an excellent balance of roasted, caramel malt, distinct dark, bitter chocolate and somewhat lighter coconut and dark fruit, with notes of raisin and fig, as well as hints of vanilla, licorice and cinnamon. Finishes sweet and boozy, with some dark chocolate, coconut and spice lingering in the aftertaste. Full mouthfeel with a rich body and low carbonation.

While this is quite boozy and a little too sweet for my personal taste, it's balanced out nicely by the roasted malts, dark, bitter chocolate and spice, which really creates quite a rich and complex flavor profile with distinct rum barrel notes. I really like the coconut not being overdone here, coming through distinctly without drowning out everything else and feeling a little more dry and musty than overly sweet, making this feel a bit like a Bounty bar in a glass with those strong dark chocolate notes as well. Subtle notes of dark fruit round this out very nicely, while it's got quite a rich and thick body and mouthfeel as well. Overall this is another exceptional, full-bodied, complex and well-balanced barrel-aged Imperial Stout from the Silver Series, which never disappoints.
